Kristen Loken is a photographer and author based in Berkeley, CA and working everywhere.

Photography and visual story telling are my two greatest professional passions. I've been working with brands big and small for more than 20 years to envision, craft, and curate their visual stories, so they can connect easily with their ideal clients. I’m inspired by creative collaborations, and above all, seeing life through the lens of my camera brings me joy.

In 2014, I photographed and published This Is Oakland, a coffee table guide-book to the city I call home. My work has also been featured in Design Mom: How to Live with Kids; Music for a City Music for the World: 100 Years with the San Francisco Symphony; C; Conde Nast Traveler; San Francisco Magazine; and Sunset Magazine, among others. I specialize in capturing stories for food and beverage, lifestyle, hospitality, arts, and technology clients.

Based in Oakland, California, I am a California-native, avid foodie, and traveler – most recently I spent four months eating my way through Africa and Europe with Remote Year. Armed with a passport and camera at all times, anything is possible! When not photographing, which is rare, I love exploring Northern California’s beautiful hiking trails, sweating it out at boot camp, experimenting in the kitchen, and enjoying a glass of wine on the porch.
